Annotation

The degree course "Media Education: Audiovisual Culture and Communication" focuses on the current socio-technological change of digitalisation and mediatisation and the associated central importance of media – in particular, the field of education in a digital world.

The focus is on digitally networked media and audiovisual media cultures and their social and individual importance for education and socialisation.

The content of the MA in Media Education is reflected in the modules that make up the degree programme:

1. Introduction to Educational Science
2. Introduction to Computer Science, Algorithms and Data Structures
3. Computer Science for Educational Courses
4. Historical, philosophical and systematic aspects of the relationship between media and society
5. Research methodologies, fields and methods
6. Media in the Socio-Cultural Context
7. Media in Learning and Education Processes

In addition to educational and media science knowledge, students also acquire technological and computer science background knowledge as interdisciplinary skills during their studies. This specific combination makes a deeper understanding of digitalisation, mediatisation and education possible.
