Annotation
Whether bridges, skyscrapers, water channels or underground railway tunnels: as a civil engineer, you basically plan and construct everything that surrounds us every day. In the Civil Engineering degree programme with vocational and academic elements, we provide you with everything you need for this exciting career field. Topics on your curriculum include Structural Design and Engineering, Fundamentals of Building Materials Science, Structural Theory and Structural Engineering. The aim of the degree course is to provide particularly practical basic training. During your study programme, you will regularly switch between theory on campus and practice in a company. So you always apply your knowledge directly.
In the degree programme with vocational and academic elements at the IU, you will study in one of the following two study models. In the degree programme with vocational and academic elements, lectures take place on two days per week on campus – occasionally also online via live video conference. Students then reinforce what they have learned using the learning materials. The "myStudium" degree programme with vocational and academic elements combines flexible self-study with digital learning formats. You will acquire the theory independently via myCampus – supported by innovative learning materials and Syntea, your personal AI learning assistant. Optionally, you can participate in weekly virtual accompanying courses as well as use other interactive live formats to deepen your knowledge.
