Overview

The large Römerlager student housing complex is located in Bonn-Castell. It takes about ten minutes to bike to the university’s main building.

Its proximity to the Rhine promenade makes it a great place for jogging or walking. In the summer, the nearby Römerbad offers a chance to cool off and relax. A direct bus ride takes just twelve minutes to reach the natural science institutes in Poppelsdorf.

Built in 1976, the residence hall has 17 stories and features 575 apartments, 10 double apartments, and 10 single rooms.

Rent deposit
Tenants are required to pay a deposit before conclusion of the rental agreement. This always amounts to one-and-a-half to two monthly rents. The deposit is not subject to payment of interest (in compliance with Section 551 (3) of the German Civil Code (§ 551 Abs. 3 BGB)).

Duration of housing
In order to give as many students as possible a chance to rent inexpensively, rental periods in Studierendenwerk dorms are limited to six semesters. An extension can only be considered in exceptional cases.
