Overview

The two two-storey houses built in 1975 are part of the student village "Strümpellstraße". The extensive housing complex also includes five further houses offering different accommodation types.

The student village is surrounded by old trees in a residential area very close to the medical institutions of the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. The buildings are arranged around a central green area. Numerous parking spaces close to each house can be reached via a private road.

Another special feature of the complex is its ecological orientation. A combined heat and power unit is provided for heat and electricity generation for the complex, two solar thermal energy systems supplement hot water generation and the electricity obtained in a photovoltaic system is fed to the public utility services of the city of Düsseldorf.

Rent deposit
A deposit amounting to three monthly rents has to be paid before conclusion of a tenancy agreement. This is returned after the tenancy period provided there are no outstanding rent payments or damage/wear not attributable to normal use of the rented property.

Duration of housing
Rental contracts with the Studierendenwerk Düsseldorf are limited to six semesters. In exceptional cases, an application may be made to enter into a new fixed-term tenancy agreement. This must be sent to the relevant administrator, together with a statement of reasons (including, where applicable, proof of academic progress) and details of the required duration.
