Overview
The Kaulbachstraße Hall of Residence – Marie-Antonie-Haus –, the first and thus oldest student hall of residence in Munich, owes its existence to the generosity of James Loeb. He gave the house to the Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern’s “predecessor”, the organisation “Studentenhaus München”, asking it to be dedicated to his beloved wife. Students then moved into the house in April 1970.
The reconstruction of the Marie-Antonie-Haus as an innovative inclusive hall of residence is a continuation of its social history. The construction work is designed for the needs of people with various disabilities (for example, automatic doors, no steps, surfaces designed with strong contrasts, a flashing light instead of a bell and specific colour designs).
Students with and without disabilities and/or chronic illness as well as families can enjoy living together despite their differing personal circumstances. This hall of residence is especially suitable for students who enjoy social commitment or simply want to live in a big and diverse residential community.

Additional information
Important information for international students participating in an exchange programme (like ERASMUS): Exchange and programme students are not able to apply for accommodation online. This is because the Munich Student Union allocates rooms for these students directly to the universities. Exchange and programme students should get in touch with the specific university directly.
