Overview

Up until 1993, the McCraw barracks were home to American soldiers and their families. Following withdrawal of the troops, the student union purchased one third of the land and converted the houses into comfortable student accommodation.
In 2002, the first new buildings were opened; unlike the old buildings, they mainly contain studio apartments as well as small shared flats for two students and also for families. There are also a large number of single-parent apartments in House 1, right above the childcare centre.

Additional information
At the moment, there is construction work going on in these halls of residence.
Expected period of construction work: until end of 2026.
The waiting times for a dwelling place in the affected halls may possibly be extended. Please take this into consideration when applying.

Important information for international students participating in an exchange programme (like ERASMUS): Exchange and programme students are not able to apply for accommodation online. This is because the Munich Student Union allocates rooms for these students directly to the universities. Exchange and programme students should get in touch with the specific university directly.
