There are no particular application procedures for foreign students. However, foreign students will receive preferential treatment when rooms are allocated.
The close cooperation with respective universities is an advantage as the Studierendenwerk is told in advance how many exchange students are to be expected. Likewise the universities share information about acceptance of students into programmes, their arrival and the length of their stays.
