The Studierendenwerk offers more than 200 places in large flat shares in student residences in Kaiserslautern. Favourable rents and a pleasant atmosphere make the student housing very popular. One of the largest residences of this kind is the "Villenstraße" hall. Located next to the "Gewerbemuseum" (craft museum), it is very popular with students because of its proximity to the University of Applied Sciences.

Rent deposit
The rental deposit is 450 EUR, for short-term rentals 600 EUR.

Duration of housing
The duration of residence is limited to eight semesters.
After expiry, it is possible to apply for an extension.
When applying for an extension, a certificate from the University of Kaiserslautern / Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences must also be enclosed, which provides information on how much time is still required for the degree programme.

If all halls of residence are full, the applicant will be placed on a waiting list. The applicant will also receive an e-mail every 30 days with a link to see if there is still interest in a place in a hall of residence. If the link is not confirmed within five days of receiving the e-mail, the application is automatically cancelled.
