Hi, Thank you for your message. In Germany, most degree programs—both Bachelor’s and Master’s—have a standard duration of several years. Bachelor’s programs usually take around three to four years, while Master’s programs typically take about two years. One-year degree programs are therefore generally not common. If you have more general questions, the best way to reach us is by email via our contact form 👉 https://www.study-in-germany.com/en/get-in-touch/contact/. That way, we can look into your individual case in much more detail and give you the answers you need. Quero muito uma bolsa de Medicina na Alemanha. 🙌

written by Elda created on

Hi Elda, first of all: Medicine and dentistry in Germany are taught under the German „State Examination“ and takes six years. There are no postgraduate courses for medicine or dentistry in Germany because these subjects are not split into a bachelor’s and a master’s degree. Also, there are no courses offered in English, so you will need a very high German proficiency to complete the programme and pass the examinations. Also, you may have a look at this website, where you can find helpful comments on medicine in Germany. The website is designed to help doctors and other interested users learn about „Health system in Germany“. It also provides the addresses of university hospitals in Germany 👉 https://www.medknowledge.de/site-map/articles/269-germany/2869-medicine-in-germany-overview.html. You can find more information on our website 👉 https://www.study-in-germany.com/en/plan-your-studies/study-options/higher-education-system/medical-studies-and-specialist-training/. Your questions are very specific. The best way to reach us is by email via our contact form 👉 https://www.study-in-germany.com/en/get-in-touch/contact/. That way, we can look into your individual case in much more detail and give you the answers you need. The most informative and helpful approach would certainly be to contact the university directly. To get started, take a look at the My GUIDE page: https://www.myguide.de/en/ – there you will find a lot of information on various subjects that you can study in Germany. Also, you can use filtered and personalised searches to get in direct contact with the higher education institutions that are right for you. Good luck and best wishes! Your Study in Germany-Team 👋🇩🇪

I graduated from high school in Vietnam and have a C1 German language certificate. Am I eligible to enroll in a foundation course (Studienkolleg) in Germany and then transfer to a university to study Medicine?

Hi Ella, To gain admission to a foundation course, you must first pass an entrance examination. Participation in the course is usually free of charge. Foundation courses take one year to complete and end with the “Feststellungsprüfung” (university qualification assessment examination). On our website, you can find more information on foundation courses 👉 https://www.study-in-germany.com/en/plan-your-studies/requirements/prep-foundation-courses/. You will find a lot of information as well as locations of “Studienkollegs” at 👉 http://www.studienkollegs.de/home.html. I want to study Psychology in Germany. I am finishing my high school. I understand I need to apply for a StudentKolleg. Is there any restriction for internationals to study Psychology?

written by Rocio created on

Hi, If you want to study at a German higher education institution, you need what is called a “Hochschulzugangsberechtigung” – or “university entrance qualification”. This is a school-leaving certificate which qualifies you for university study. If your school-leaving certificate is not recognised as equivalent to the German Abitur (secondary school leaving certificate which allows access to university studies in Germany), you can still study at a German university by participating in a “Studienkolleg” (foundation course). The Studienkolleg is a preparatory course for academic studies at a university. Good German language skills are required, as German is spoken in all courses. To gain admission to a foundation course, you must first pass an entrance examination.
