You know that feeling when every day looks exactly the same, waking up early, going to uni, studying, working, coming back home, and then repeating everything again the next day? Nothing special, nothing exciting? I’ve been feeling exactly like that lately.

But today was different. I was lucky to see information that The Count Basie Orchestra would be performing in Fulda. Even luckier, I managed to get a seat, that was almost the last one available! I could hardly believe it. When the day finally came, I headed to the schlosstheater to listen to the jazz concert I had been waiting for.

It turned out to be an extraordinary experience and truly the best night I’ve had this year in Fulda.

The moment I stepped inside the theater, I felt something special. The atmosphere was warm, and elegant.  When the orchestra began to play, their sound filled the room, powerful, sophisticated, and full of American musical history that I could actually feel. It was magical.

The Count Basie Orchestra is world-famous, and they even won a Grammy Award for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album. Experiencing them live was something I will never forget. This concert transformed my ordinary day into something truly extraordinary.

And here’s something I really appreciate about being a student in Germany: the discounts! Sometimes being under 30 is honestly a gift. Today’s ticket cost only 9 euros, which is unbelievable for a performance of this level. Concerts, musicals, operas, all of them become accessible when you’re a student, and it’s one of the best parts of student life here.

So if you’re a student living in Germany, don’t miss out on these opportunities. Go to a concert, a show, a play, anything that fills your heart and breaks your routine. It might turn an ordinary day into one of the best days of your year.
